Today I’m taking S-Dad to the Retina doctor, his appointment is for around 9:30. Those appointments can last a while, and then he usually wants to go to lunch.
I’m expecting an exciting lunch, since he will be full of news about his recent trip to Vancouver to see his daughter and son-in-law. I picked him up from the train station Monday night/ Tuesday morning at 1 a.m., so I didn’t get a lot of details then. I guess if I did, I was half asleep and didn’t remember.
Then, D1 and I are headed up North for GS2’s football game. The last 10 or so years have been occupied with a lot of football, in which both GS1 and GS2 participated, and I’ll miss GS2 playing here on the local team. But, I’m hitching a ride to see him play one more time. Maybe I’ll be able to attend again, but I’m not missing this chance. D1 will leave me off at M-in-L’s home after the game, where Papa will join me Friday after he leaves work.
Memorial Day and Labor Day at M-in-L’s house is a 20 or so year tradition. Papa and I will drive wherever she wants to go, see the free acts and displays at the Harvest Festival in Manton, and attend the parade on Monday. After the parade, it’s on the highway fighting traffic all the way home.
I’ll be “Up North”, hope you have a good holiday weekend, too.
