Another in a series about Me, Myself and I. Today, I’m sharing the stage with Dad and B1. In this one, Dad is holding me. I look a little like him, I guess. Not as much as my sister, who is really the image of Dad when he was young.
Here are B1 with me and Dad. The six or so years between photos was really hard on his head. Not nearly as much up there. I’m guessing this one about 1956, me age five and B1 age four. I see the flower bed next to the garage. I’d forgotten about that. Mom was crazy about flowers, she was forever weeding, pruning and planting. But that was just at this house, I don’t remember as much gardening at the Division Street house.
Here’s baby Granny again, and Dad. This as to be the spring of 1952. I can see the thorny yellow rose bush, but I don’t recognize the house or garages. I believe this must be somewhere in the backyard of our first home. In most of the photos taken there, you can see the First Baptist Church, which was immediately to the east of the house, or Bendle memorials, a tombstone business on the west. We lived in the funeral home in the middle!
I just wasted spent 45 minutes trying to map these places so I could share them with you. Google Maps doesn’t have satellite view for Cadillac, Michigan. I used “Live Maps” from Windows Live. If you want to see the places I’ve mentioned, click here, and then select a aerial view. They are places 1, 2 and 3.
That’s enough for today, and a great wordless Wednesday!

Love all the pics of you and your Dad. Neat how photos from the past will remind you of things-like your Mom’s flower bed.
Thanks for the comment, Tipper. I’ve enjoyed each one as I’ve scanned them. It’s hard to decide which ones to post.
