We had a nice visit with M-in-L over the weekend, and ate some good food. She’s been a little under the weather, but seems to be improving. Since her back has been bothering her, I helped out a little with some chores. Did me good to think I might be helping a little.
We stopped at s-Dad’s new digs today, to check things out and get a good hug. He is doing OK, but said he had a few bad days. I don’t think as bad as he had after Mom left us, but lonely is bad, none the less. Change is tough, no matter what.
Papa helped s-brother move a few things into the house. Then they moved a few things around, to facilitate the unpacking. Thank goodness, the TV guy had come this past week and hooked the satellite dish up; apparently s-Dad had almost wore out some DVD’s we bought a while back. Nothing to watch is nothing to watch, and DVD’s are better than nothing!
I had a picture of one of my nephews that I took up to him. He was tickled to see it, and smiled a bit. None of us had seen that nephew since his HS graduation several years ago. At that time, Mother, S-Dad, Papa and I went over, and took our little granddaughters along. It was fun to meet the family, and see Nephew. I had seen him only once previously, when he was about six. Anyway, S-dad liked the picture.
I was lucky enough to get a couple of old family photos from M-in-L. Well–I didn’t get them, but I scanned them, and will be sending copies to cousins who might be interested. They will show up on my genealogy blog sometime next week, but no promises when. Papa and I have a bunch to do this week, and I want to keep my nose to the grindstone as much as possible.
There’s a hint of spring in the air, and a touch of warm weather. I’m going to wash a few windows, and get a room or two scrubbed and ready to paint. Maybe.
