I just checked the snow and there are 5 inches.
D1 left for an appointment about 7:40, you can see a lot of snow in her tracks. It’s up to the storm door, so I shoveled it away after I took these shots.
Papa said so few showed up at work, they will probably be leaving soon. He also said there was a lot more snow over on the west side where he works. But we’d have to get a lot more than 5 inches to qualify as an EVENT in winter in Michigan.

We’ve had plenty of snow since early November but this storm has the everybody going nuts. It will stop and we’ll clear the driveway, rake the roof and wait for the next one. I’ll be dreaming of palm trees tonight.
We always got a lot of snow when we lived “up north”, but here in the Detroit area heavy snow is the exception, not the rule. The proximity of lake Huron keeps us a little warmer than inland, also.
The reason why everyone gets excited is the difficulty of clearing the roads, which are always heavily traveled, bumper to bumper traffic in the rush hours.
We got about 11 to 13 inches here, hope you don’t get any more than you need.
