Belle’s Box – 97

This entry is part 99 of 342 in the series Belle's Box

Read about this series of posts, regarding items in a box originally owned by Belle (Lamunion) Fellows Tinker here. The cast of characters is located here. And, there is an accounting of people about whom I have little information here.

97

I already looked around for the Bailey’s when I posted about item 62. I still don’t know anything about them.

I to think that it is nice that the item I am posting on Christmas happened to be a Christmas card.

All the best to all my readers and their families!

Have been searching in Newaygo Co., for relatives. They came from Shiawassee Co., Mich., abt., 1850 and while in Shiawassee Co., one of them married a “Lammyon/Lamongon/Lamunion, the spelling isn’t clear. I am wondering if perhaps your’s is some of mine. Able Lamongon (another spelling) married a Nancy Walker, had a Susan, that perhaps married a “Morton.” Several of this strange name spelling were in some of the census’s in Shiawassee too. Some of my family moved to Wexford and Benzie Co., Michigan, one died in Cadlilac from county records, looking to where he was buried? The area where the Morton and Lamongon spouce were living in Newaygo Co., Michigan, was called the “The White Irish District.”

  1. Hi. Although I don’t recognize the names you have mentioned, I do know someone who is descended from a line on Michigan’s east side, more near Shiawassee Co. I’ll send you an e-mail, so I can put you in touch.
