When Freddie Harris passed away, I couldn’t find a single picture of him anywhere around here. We finally did find a few, but it seems hard to believe that we had so few after seeing him on stage so many times. Anyway, I located them on one of the computers around here. These are from December, 2006 and were taken at the Kentuckians of Michigan.
This band was one version of the Harris-Ellis Band. Tim Ellis, banjo and vocals; Joe Smith, guitar and vocals; Dave Long, fiddle; and I don’t know the bass player. I know its bad form, but I just don’t know. Maybe Papa can save me tonight when he gets home.
Freddie always had fun playing and singing. Freddie loved music, could play anything and always seemed to have a smile on his face. We miss him.
