Even if you don’t care for bluegrass, you might be interested in this article about banjo pioneer Eddie Adcock. He recently had surgery at Vanderbilt, an effort to treat a tremor in his hand, and help him continue to play. It sounds pretty complicated to me.
I remember him telling us that he had to be careful when he took his medication, so his times on stage were a certain period before or after the meds (I don’t remember the details). He did indicate at that time, two years ago, that his playing problems were related to the medications he must.
