Daffy

This morning, I was reading blogs and at least two of the bloggers I read regularly, Tipper, and Becky posted photos of their daffodils.  I’m behind, again!  You might remember last fall, when I did some work on the flower bed on the south side of my house.  I planned to move my daisies to this bed, and add tulips and daffodils.

I saw the daffodils a couple of weeks ago, but I didn’t photograph them.  Today, I ran out to see how I did with my planting and moving.

The Daisies are doing fine:

Standing back, you can see that my new bulbs are doing fine, too.  They are all along the front.

Along the wall, you can see a few of the Tulips and Daffodils that Mom gave me.  I didn’t mark them last spring, so they didn’t get moved.  The large group of Daffodils at the bottom are all the old bulbs I found.  I just dumped them in a row, and they seem to like it there.

The Peonies are doing quite well, too, especially near the dryer vent. They love the heat, and those that are close to the vent always bloom earlier than the rest. Look along the wall among the leaves.

It’s cool today, but if it gets a little warmer this afternoon, I’ll rake the leaves out and put the on our garden spot, and hoe a little. There are weeds coming up, and some grass. It seems there are always weeds and grass in my flowers.

Happy spring!

You have a longer season, so I’m sure they are, too. They would be my favorite, it it weren’t for the ants. But, they war pretty. Mom loved them, especially the dark pink ones. I’m planning to take some up where she is buried on Memorial Day.

It’s gong to be pretty when it all starts blooming! Are the shasta short or tall?

We spent yesterday shoveling off some of the garden. *sigh* I have some things starting to come up, the crocuses are blooming but no sign of daffodils yet and much to soon to look for peonies – even the ones that aren’t still under ice.

You have far more snow that we had. It is quite mild here, near Lake Huron. Thanks for the comment, Apple.
