Progress

Spring might really be on the way! The Daffodils look pretty good. The bedroom is finished! I put all the stuff back, I know there is too much. It is all photos, old high school year books and other worthwhile things. Here is a view over the head of the bed. The wedding ring quilt …

Almost On Our Way

Papa and I are headed out to the Southern Ohio Indoor Music Festival tomorrow.  We’re looking forward to seeing a few friends, and some great music.  Be there if you can, it is a well run event, with some great bluegrass entertainers included on the schedule.  I’m especially looking forward to seeing Grasstown, the Scene, …

Saturday is Right Around the Corner

There are a bunch of options for bluegrass in the D this weekend.  After careful consideration, Papa and I have decieded to head down to the Huron Valley Eagles and see B0 and John and ’em.  We’ve seen Bo sing quite a bit, but this will be the first time we’ve seen this group.  Bo …

A Taste of Spring

It was a little warmer for a day or so there, but now it’s back to the deep freeze.  We are supposed to have a warm weekend, but it won’t help Papa and I any, we are headed north to M-in-L’s house.  She’s having a birthday, and we want to be there. I’m busy as …

Back Home

We’re here, and most of our things are put away. I am a nest maker, so it is important to me to have things in order. I do have one problem, our bikes got covered with salt and snow on the way home. Our daughters had thoughtfully shoveled, so we drove right in the garage, …

Learn a Little

After exploring new territory, ideas or general “stuff” Papa and I always say, one to another, “You can quit now, you’ve learned something today.” We went a little over the top today, and learned quite a bit. We visited the 4-H Tidelands Nature Center, here on Jekyll Island, Georgia. There are exhibits of local marine …

We’ll be there, all three days. We’re staying here on the island until Tuesday, continuing our vacation. We’ve explored the beaches, with long walks …

The Georgia Aquarium

Sunday, Papa and I visited the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. I hadn’t realized there was a football game at the Georgia Dome that day, but that didn’t interfere with our visit.  We had paid for our tickets and parking in advance, on-line, a move I always recommend.   This is just a short clip from our …

No Snow

There is no snow on the beach here at Jekyll Island, Georgia. Papa and I just went for a long walk on the beach, it is about 68 and humid. My shoulders are no longer knotted up, and I feel great!

Another Goodbye

GS1 flew out of here yesterday. Sometime today he flies to his new duty station in Japan on a military transport. Folks, this was much harder than any time in the past. He’ll be there two+ years, and the odds of Papa and I traveling that far are very limited. GS1 managed to finish his …
