I am posting information gleaned from land records in the areas where our family’s ancestors resided. You can read more about this project in the overview. You may also check my deed record listing, which I will update with each post.

Mary must have had some interest in this land, perhaps a tax deed. The $50 would not be enough to purchase the 40 acres, even at that time.

Back to the old Atlas¹. This land is in the second tier of sections in Greenwood township, 8 miles or so from the Burdick residence on the Greenwood/Colfax township line. This map section does not show the land the Burdicks occupied, and the other map sections in the series do not show this land.
