Belle’s Box – 86

This entry is part 88 of 342 in the series Belle's Box

Read about this series of posts, regarding items in a box originally owned by Belle (Lamunion) Fellows Tinker here. The cast of characters is located here. And, there is an accounting of people about whom I have little information here.

If next year brings
all the gladness
That I hope
you may receive
You will have no
time for sadness
Nor remember how
to grieve

My Dear Mrs Fellows
Just found out you
were gone. And I
miss you very much
Hope it wont be long
before I see you
again.
Mr G.P. xxxxx
xxx Boon
Mich

Well, this is interesting. I didn’t expect to find a love letter in the box. Belle’s husband Henry Fellows died in 1905, and she and Charlie Tinker were married July 13, 1913; making this even more puzzling.

If anyone sees Mr G.P., please ask him about this, OK?

I wonder if GP didn’t know she’d remarried or just chose to ignore the fact!

  1. I guess I didn’t transcribe the postmark, which is Boon, Mich May 1914, less than a full year after the date Belle married Charlie.

Not sure if GP knew about the marriage or not, since he hasn’t called or e-mailed me yet (big smile).
