I do not have the names of any aunts or uncles of Belle, and could not begin to guess who might have written this card. I do have the following information on the family.

Belle’s father, Ruscum Lemunyon/Lamunion, son of Howard and Martha (Fish) Lemunyon was probably born at Farmington, Ontario County, N. Y. Oct., 1807, and died August, 1891, probably at Wayland, Allegan Co., Mich. He married, 10 August, 1843 (probably at Manchester, N. Y.) Miranda Jones, born 26 Jan., 1821 and died probably 1871 or 1872, Wayland, Allegan County, Mich. These dates are from a Family Bible, as is the following record of their children:

1. Elizabeth L., b 19 DEC., 1846 m Frank Bisard
2. Mary Ann, b 4 Feb., 1850, m John Murry
3. Merritt Winfield, (known as Scott) b Nov. 29, 1851, m Emma Wedges
4. George W., b 13 DEC., 1852
5. Benjamin F., b 31 Jan., 1856
6. Emily Alcinda, b 10 Apr., 1858, m Andrew Carter
7. Olive Josephine, b 11 Nov. –, m — Tufts
8. Claracy Bell, b 15 July, 1864, m Henry Fellows

The transcription of the bible was made in 1975 by Ted McAdam and Dale Ladd, while researching a parallel line of Lamunions who also migrated to Michigan. At that time the bible was in the possession of Hulda Carter Terwilliger, who they visited at her home in Grand Rapids. I made inquiries regarding the bible several years ago, and could not confirm the location or owner of the bible then.

Ruscom and family are found in the following census:
1850 census of Manchester, Ontario County, New York in Howard’s home, page 621.
1855 New York State Census, Manchester, they are family 157:172;
1860, federal census of Manchester, New York they are family 400:426;
1870 in Dorr Township. Allegan County, Michigan, family 78:79 where he is ‘Rascone LaMonnon’.

If you are researching the Jones or Lamunion/Lemunyon families of New York and Allegan County, Michigan, please contact me.
