Belle’s Box – 2-68

This entry is part 223 of 342 in the series Belle's Box

Read about this series of posts, regarding items in a box originally owned by Belle (Lamunion) Fellows Tinker here. The cast of characters is located here. And, there is an accounting of people about whom I have little information here.

The numbering of these posts had been modified to signify that I am posting items from my archival book two, hence the 2-xx numbering.

Mr & Mrs. Perry E. Potter

Another card which appears to have been sent at the time of Charlie’s death. I have not previously heard of the Potters.

On the 1930 census of DeWitt, Clinton County Michigan, district 19. sheet 6B, there is a resident listed as “Potter, E Perry”. All the initial of the families on this sheet are placed before the names, leading me to believe it is possible that this is “Perry E. Potter”. Potter is a laborer for Consumers Power.

This man is also found, as a child, on the 1900 census of Manluis, Allegan, Michigan, district 18, sheet 4B. The family are New Yorkers, as were the Lamunions, who migrated to Dorr Township, Allegan County from Manchester, Ontario County, New York between 1865 and 1870.

Perhaps there is some connection between the Perry family and the Lamunion family from their concurrent residence in Allegan County.
