This entry is part 160 of 342 in the series Belle's Box

Read about this series of posts, regarding items in a box originally owned by Belle (Lamunion) Fellows Tinker here. The cast of characters is located here. And, there is an accounting of people about whom I have little information here.

The numbering of these posts had been modified to signify that I am posting items from my archival book two, hence the 2-xx numbering. The posts from this book will contain more thumbnails, you will find that the pages with signatures, text and other important details will enlarge upon clicking.

This card has handwriting at the bottom:

Aunt Belle + Chas
from Willie Paterson
Sherman Mich

On January 4, 1914 Nellie May Lamunion, daughter of Merritt (Scott) Lamunion married Leo F. Patterson in Manton, Michigan. On on March 29, 1915 their infant daughter died in Antioch Township, Wexford County. I have no record of additional children, but in 1920 the family seems to appear in Lansing, Ingham County on the census, with a son, Leo, age three.

On the 1930 census, Nellie Patterson, of the correct age to be Nellie Lamunion Patterson appears as a servant in the home of the Ashley family in Cadillac, Michigan. The census indicates Nellie is married, and there is no child named Patterson in the household. I also cannot find the child anywhere else.

So, “Willie” Patterson may or may not be the son of Nellie Lamunion Patterson, but it seems likely since he addresses Belle as “Aunt” and Charlie as “Charlie”, which almost all family members did.
