Almost Finished!

Well, I’ve been busy.  After my day at the Library of Michigan Wednesday, I spent Thursday playing catch up.  I’m not there, but almost.  I spend some time in the yard, finally!  It sure felt good to be outside.  I raked one of the ditches near the street and hauled the leaves to the still very wet garden.  Hard to believe how wet it is.  Then I picked up all the sticks on the south yard.  I enjoyed the Daffodils as I did so.  Only a few were hurt by the snow and freezing weather.  It looks like I need to trim some bushes, and then lots more raking.  I’m getting there, slowly.

Papa has worked on the living room floor two nights this week, and wow!  It is almost finished.  He thinks he will be finished Saturday.  The hard part is the trim, and then putting everything back.  We also have the new blinds to put up.  Then I will wash the curtains, which are sitting in a bucket downstairs waiting for me, and put them back up.

I have much more painting to do, but the flooring was the hard part, and I’m so happy with how it looks.  The foreground is the dining room.  We put new flooring in the dining room and kitchen several years ago.  The best part is, that the new one matches perfectly, you can click these thumbnails to see bigger versions.

This small area on the wall next to the stairs is all that is left to do.  Well, that and installing the new baseboard.  You can see that the plaster doesn’t quite meet the floor.  Every room in the house is like that.

Tonight and Saturday will be busy, but in a fun sort of way!  Have a good weekend.

Wow the floor looks so good! Love it. Sounds like you’ve been super busy-I think you’re like the energizer bunny 🙂

Actually, I’m exhausted, and I didn’t really do anything. Cleaning up some today, not too sure how far I’ll get. Sawdust everywhere in the garage, since it was too cold or dark to saw outside. Thank for the comment.
