Wow, time flies when you are having fun! I bet you have heard that little line before. It seems like time is really flying around Granny and Papa’s house.
We had very good luck with green beans in our little garden, and we’ve had our share of broccoli and zucchini. The tomatoes are coming on, but not as they have in past years, and the cucumbers are almost a total loss. The weather has been far too dry, and then over the past couple of days, we’ve had huge storms. We certainly needed the rain, but it isn’t enough, and the timing is not correct to save a lot of the garden.
My flowers are doing pretty well, mostly because D3 is very diligent about watering them. I’m not as good. I did get out and water and weed a few days before the rain, so things are better in the back yard.
Papa and I are packing Lex for a trip over to the Milan Bluegrass Festival. If you live near Milan, and have never been, go ahead, take a chance. The line-up is very good, and I know you will enjoy yourself. Milan makes us think that summer is pretty near gone, and that makes me sad. We do have more plans for the next few weeks, and have an especially busy late summer and fall planned.
I’m putting most of my free time on genealogy, but I do having painting I abandoned when spring turned to summer. I am going to do my best to get that done in early September, before we take off for Kentucky, Tennessee and the IBMA World of Bluegrass. Watch the video, no REALLY, watch the video.
My morning glories are beautiful every morning, I’ll sneak out and take a new picture tomorrow. Come back and check it out!
