Happy Fortieth Anniversary to Papa (and me)
Forty years seems like a long time, until you have lived through it. Back on Monday, July 28, 1969 Papa and I married. For us, it was the right thing to do then, and it seems like the years have proven that.
I picked this picture from our book because it is such a great memory. Uncle George Fenton was a guy who never missed an opportunity to have a little fun. S-Dad took the photos of our wedding, and the fact that he caught this one has given us a ton of memories over the years.
My maid of honor told me later she couldn’t believe I was smiling (almost laughing) on the way out of the sanctuary. She told me it was a serious occasion. I guess we thought Uncle George was right, a laugh never hurts.
Here is that maid of honor. She does look serious, doesn’t she?
I am glad we’ve had a few laughs over the years, it sure helps when things get tough. I couldn’t have a better partner to navigate the surf on the pond of life, and I am looking forward to the next forty years!

Happy Anniversary!! Wow you 2 were a handsome couple. I love the laughing happy look on your faces-true bliss!
