Granny Tells You What's Going On

Bing, Bing Searchers, or FeedJit?

Recently, most of the people who used a search engine to find this blog arrived via Bing. The most interesting thing about the searches is that they seem to contain only one keyword, and the searchers probably were not looking for content similar to my blog.

When I recreated the searches at bing.com, it appears that the results that lead people to my blog were far down the list of results, with low ranking. You can look for yourself, this generalization starts with the most recent results. Look fast, they update quite quickly.

So what is going on? The “bing.com” keyword searches (bold type) that were reported and brought people to my blog, and the pages retrieved by the searches most recently are:

OK, I stopped there. When I click on the search words reported by FeedJit for Bing, they don’t produce a result on my blog that seems consistent with the keyword.

Is FeedJit not reporting the actual search term correctly?

Are Bing searchers actually searching for random, ordinary keywords without using exact term searches?

I don’t know the answer, but I do know that the gazillion people who arrived don’t appear to have found content they were actually seeking. I’m going to check my AW Stats reports for a few days to see if I can figure out what is *really* happening.
