Granny Tells You What's Going On

Dry Weather

There was rain in lower Michigan this week, but we were mostly missed. There is very little moisture in the soil, and the grass is burning out and going dormant. I spent a lot of time in the yard, but some things can’t be fixed with a little water from the hose. I did weed everything once, but it needs it again.

The garden is coming along. some of the tomatoes actually have blossoms. I don’t believe we’ve ever had that happen so early, but they are on some heirloom tomatoes that Papa planted. You can see how dry the ground is in this photo.

Just after I took this picture, Papa tilled, and I hoed the entire garden. There was some moisture in the soil, but we could used some rain. There is none in the forecast, a bummer. I’ll have to water soon.
