Granny Tells You What's Going On

I’ve planted several trees since we moved here almost eighteen years ago, with little success.

Last year, I had trees growing among my flowers in the backyard beds. There were a bunch of them, all silver maple trees, like the big one in our side yard. They are junky trees, but they are trees.

Last fall, we planted some of them in our side yard, and hoped for the best. Papa was skeptical, but I said, they want to grow here, and they are free, so we should plant them.

This spring, he was pleased when he told me they had all lived. And, although some look better than others, I’m glad I gave them a good start in the flower bed, and transplanted them.

There are five total, four in the row in the center of this photo, and one over to the right on the other side of the garden.

I’m happy they are happy. I love the price, and glad we tried it.
