Granny Tells You What's Going On

Friday, Already?

I’ve been busy all week, but it is hard to tell what I have been doing. I do have a couple of lists, and many items are crossed off.

We sent for our tickets to the Charlotte and Milan (Michigan) bluegrass festivals. These are the best line-ups for miles around, and I think it would be a mistake to miss them.

We are tentatively planning a trip to the Red, White and Bluegrass festival over the Fourth of July. We will probably take a tent and stay at a local campground. It is farther than we usually take Lex, and Papa will have to be home to work Monday. That being the case, it is cheaper, easier and quicker to take a tent and our new economy car. It’s just a question of what will fit in the car! Next weekend we will be at the West Michigan Bluegrass Association Mayfest. We are looking forward to seeing some friends there.

Enough about the ‘Grass. On the the problems at hand. The Michigan economy is in freefall. The news for the Library of Michigan, State aid to local libraries and other non-essential services is not good. Please check out information about the Governor’s recent executive order on my genealogy blog.

I’m busy cleaning and getting my listed items completed, have a good weekend!

All the festivals sound fun! I hear you about the budget-our state has cut educational spending twice in the last month. Makes me wonder how they’ll run the schools next year.
