Granny Tells You What's Going On

A Side Trip

GD2 is planning a big day for us again today, so I just have a minute to let you know how much fun yesterday was.

Our lovely littlest granddaughter arrived Wednesday night with big plans. She wanted to say a long time, and do lots of STUFF. We were planning on a “Day Out With Thomas”, but the rest is extras suggested by her.

Yesterday, it was the zoo. Funny thing about the zoo is her knowledge of where the ice cream stands are. She know ’em all. We found that the train won’t be operating until May 1, to we hoofed it as far as we wanted I could.

Here are a few excerpts:

The Hippo was cold, especially for a girl with bare legs. But, she wanted to wear a skirt, and I wasn’t going to change her mind…

She looked for the Macaws as soon as we got to the aviary. She wanted a picture of one.

The fountain is on! She was pretty excited about that, it was still off and empty on our last zoo trip. I don’t blame her, it is certainly a spectacular sight!

She wants to hit the museum today, so I’m getting geared up.

We had a wonderful visit, and I’m tired. But what fun we had. When one or more of the kids visit, I remember their Grammie, Sally, who used to say, “Everyone thinks their grandchildren are the cutest and the smartest, and the most wonderful, but at least WE know it’s true!” I miss her for them pretty often, she loved them so, and enjoyed them so.
