Granny Tells You What's Going On

The Georgia Aquarium

| December 30, 2008

Sunday, Papa and I visited the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. I hadn’t realized there was a football game at the Georgia Dome that day, but that didn’t interfere with our visit.  We had paid for our tickets and parking in advance, on-line, a move I always recommend.   This is just a short clip from our […]

No Snow

| December 29, 2008

There is no snow on the beach here at Jekyll Island, Georgia. Papa and I just went for a long walk on the beach, it is about 68 and humid. My shoulders are no longer knotted up, and I feel great!

Another Goodbye

| December 18, 2008

GS1 flew out of here yesterday. Sometime today he flies to his new duty station in Japan on a military transport. Folks, this was much harder than any time in the past. He’ll be there two+ years, and the odds of Papa and I traveling that far are very limited. GS1 managed to finish his […]

The Weekend Already?

| August 28, 2008

Today I’m taking S-Dad to the Retina doctor, his appointment is for around 9:30. Those appointments can last a while, and then he usually wants to go to lunch. I’m expecting an exciting lunch, since he will be full of news about his recent trip to Vancouver to see his daughter and son-in-law. I picked […]

The line-up for this year’s Oakland Community College Bluegrass Series has been announced. The location is the Lila Jones Theater at 739 South Washington, Royal Oak, MI 48067. The concerts begin […]

August Begins with a Bang!

| August 4, 2008

We had a great trip “up North” over the weekend, including seeing lots of cousins at the reunion. We were especially blessed to see Judy, M-in-L’s neighbor, who dropped over Saturday. While you’re saying your prayers, please include her. She’s a tough gal, but she’s having more than her share of challenges these days. There […]

It Doesn’t Take Much to Entertain Us

| July 12, 2008

I was at Google Maps calculating the time it will take us to drive over to meet D2 tomorrow and retrieve our three young grandchildren, when I noticed that Google has a “Walking Directions” function. Beta, of course. We noted the time that it would take to “walk it”, 1 day, 6 hours, and it […]

Home Again

| July 8, 2008

Papa and I arrived home a couple of days ago, after a tour that included 3 bluegrass festivals, 2 quick stops at home, 3 grandchildren, a couple of rainstorms, and a bunch of fun. First, the bluegrass, the reason for the tour. We attended the Hart Brothers Festival near Guysville, Ohio. Had a great time, […]

Back at It, Whatever it Is

| May 29, 2008

Papa and I had a nice Memorial Day holiday,  We spend a few days with Papa’s mother, as we do each year.  We visited the cemeteries where our departed family members are buried, and brought plants and flowers.  We drove around our old stomping grounds and looked for changes and improvements.  We stopped at every […]

Tour D’ Meeee-sheeee–gan

| May 22, 2008

OK, it’s a weak title, but it is all I have! I left Tuesday afternoon and drove from here to here. If you look at the scrolling heading in my old hometown of Cadillac, then you will see a photograph of this place. My Dad ran a Funeral Home there from 1958 to 1979. Then […]
